The MiLó duo is a chamber music group born in 2013 and integrated by the Hungarian bariton Kornél Mikez and the Spanish pianst Javier López Jorge. After an intense and individual academic education and concertistic activity developed in Spain, UK, Austria and Hungary, both members decided to start this project moved by a passion in common: the song repertoire for voice and piano.
After being almost 4 years inmersed in an intense concert activity, the MiLó duo habe played in important music halls in Spain and Hungary such as MEAM (Museu Europeu D’Art Modern) in Barcelona, Main Hall of the Univesity of Santiago de Compostela, Solti Hall of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, Glass Hall of the Palace of Arts in Budapest and habe participated in important Music Festivals such as “Valley of Arts” International Music Festival in Kapolcs (Hungary). Moreover, MiLó duo is always interested in continue developing their musicianship. Therefore, they have participated in several masterclasses with reknowed teachers like Thomas Steinhöfel, Walter Moore, András Kemenes, David Lutz, Rita Wagner and Gábor Csalog among others.
Nowadays, Kornél and Javier combine their solo and duo concert activities with his work in the choir of the Hungarian National Radio and his Doctoral studies at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music respectively. Coming soon, MiLó duo will present the whole collection of song cycles written by Gustav Mahler in Barcelona, Madrid and Santiago.
